From the time I picked up knitting again in mid-December 2016, I’ve made my first scarf, which was started and finished about three weeks ago. It turned out beautifully! I had initially intended it to be an infinity scarf, but settled on the scarf form (the pattern itself was actually for a cowl). Of course, I could always make another one as an infinity. The length of the scarf isn’t as long as I wanted it, because I ran out of yarn, and I was eager to wear it 🙂 It measures approximately 9.5″ wide by 52″ long.

Before starting this project, I knitted a good amount of dishcloths in an effort to practice knit stitches and purl stitches, as well as getting the dynamics of knitting at a comfortable and efficient level.

Materials and tools: Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton! in Ivory, using U.S. 8 (5 mm) size needles.

Pattern: Knitted Champagne Cowl by Expression Fiber Arts. The pattern is simple to knit and memorize. I think it’s great for beginners!
